„I’m Craig Crowley, president of ICSD.

I’d like to update you about the Deaflympics.
First you will remember that ICSD awarded the 2013 Deaflympics to Athens. But in July of last year, the government pulled out. Since then, ICSD has been working hard to find a new host.

In my last video, I promised to keep you updated about the progress of Hungary 2013. ICSD now has the details of the budget for Hungary.
There have been big economic problems in Hungary. The government only pay half of the budget. So if we want to go to Hungary, deaf sports will have to pay the rest. The gap is 700 euros per athlete.

Before we give Hungary an answer, we want to know what the world of deaf sport thinks about this.
Hungary is not the only option. Bulgaria and Russia have already said they would like to host deaflympics next year. We are waiting to see if the governments of Bulgaria and Russia will support those plans.

And others have said they might be interested hosting the Deaflympics, but one year later, in 2014. There is very little time to prepare before next year.
We have said before that we will resolve all these matters before the end of May. ICSD will continue to update you in the time until then.
Looking ahead, Russia has said it is interested in hosting the Winter Deaflympics of 2015 in Sochi, the same place at the Winter Olympics. Again, we have asked for a sign of government support.

Finally, I am very happy to say that all our world championship events for the year ahead are in good shape. Thank you to all of our hosts for their good work.

To tell us your comments, you can go to the Deaflympics page on facebook.
You can send me a message on Twitter.
Or you can send an email to deaflympics@ciss.org.
Thank you.“

  1. constantly i used to read smaller articles or reviews which as
well clear their motive, and that is also happening with this post
which I am reading at this place.

  2. Why did not you include the video report by Lanesman? See it from

    http://media.sportsmx.com/video/2012/03/icsd-finance-issues/#respond

You will see how much money was lost in the ICSD by the three key men – Crowley, Lanesman and Cooper!

Also, read an interesting comment from one viewer:

What a very irresponsible, imprudent and unprofessional ICSD Vice President from Israel Lanesman is!

In 2005 he was elected to the ICSD Vice Presidency and in 2005 he was one of these who was involved in the decision-making procedures regarding the 2011 Winter Deaflympics in Slovakia ( this project eventually collapsed in 2011 ).
In 2008 he was in Greece for the drawing event of the 1st World Football Championship and there he did nothing to review and double-check ( and to tell the truth to the world ) of the ongoing status of the contract documents regarding the organization of the 2013 Summer Deaflympics. As a result, the 2013 Athens Games project had collapsed!

In this video Lanesman chose to conceal another big hole in the ICSD structure:Lanesman was largely responsible for the bid initiating and, later on, cancelling of the 1st World Beach Volleyball Championship, which was supposed to take place in Tel Aviv, Israel, in the months of August-September of 2010. This much-anticipated event was, too, cancelled at the last minute in June of 2010.

The strange thing is that, despite his very questionable leadership, Lanesman is the only person from the previous ICSD Management Team to be allowed to continue to serve the ICSD until now ( the three others – Ammons, Willmerdinger and Granfors – are no longer associated with the ICSD ).
